22 Aprile 2008: Earth day

Rome becomes the capital of the music for the environment. With Cesaria Evora, Vinicio Capossela, Sud Sound System, Saba and Nidi D’Arac, Nat Geo Music, the musical channel of National Geographic (406 of SKY), celebrates the Earth day organizing a great free event at 8.00 PM in the square of the Campidoglio, NAT GEO MUSIC LIVE: MUSIC FOR THE ENVIRONMENT.
The 22nd of April, starting at 8.00 PM some of the most creative artists of the Italian and international scene, will perform live music for the Roman public. The goal is not only to entertain Romans, but also to make them aware of environmental issues and to engage them in contributing with personal behaviors to take care of the planet.

The concert will be opened by an emerging star of the Italian musical panorama, Saba, who stirs POP r' n b with sounds of Africa and, in particular, of the earth where she has grown, Somalia.
Then the Sud Sound System will perform their particular mix of local music and rhythms made in Jamaica. We will remain in Salento, with the performance of the Nidi d’Arac with their blend of folk music of South Italy in a modern key. Their performance will be supported by the Tamburellisti of San Rocco. Then it is time for one legend of music, Cesaria Evora. The singer of Cabo Verde will prove her class and elegance, that have created her reputation as the Queen of "morna": the style that fuses African percussions with Portuguese fado and Brazilian music. The concert will be concluded by another great Italian artist: Vinicio Capossela. For the public of Rome the artist will perform some of its greater successes.
The concert will be aired on Lifegate Radio and, in streaming, on www.natgeomusic.it. The event of Nat Geo Music will be characterized either for the presence of great artists and for being an echo-sustainable event. In fact, with Impact Zero® of LifeGate, all the CO2 emissions caused by the concert will be off-set through the creation of new forests in Costa Rica. The total of CO2 produced for the organization of the event equal to 30.500 kilograms, will be off-set by 19.700 squared meters of new forests (www.impattozero.it). The Earth Day is realized with the sponsorship and the collaboration of the Comune di Roma, Regione Lazio and Sviluppo Lazio. Media Partner is LifeGate Radio
